VOTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions govern the process of registering a vote for the candidate you would like to progress to the final interview for the Island Caretaker position. Use of the voting service constitutes your agreement to these voting terms and conditions.
The Wild Card Candidate with the highest number of votes will attend the final interview in conjunction with 10 short listed candidates selected by Tourism Queensland and its international offices.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The Island Caretaker Wild Card Candidate voting service will be available from 11.59pm UTC on 2nd March 2009 and close at 11.59pm UTC on 24th March 2009. Any votes received outside this voting period will not be counted in the vote tally.
2. To vote for a candidate, you must follow the voting instructions on the website, www.islandreefjob.com. The process is:
Step 1 – User clicks ‘vote for me’ button on a particular applicants profile.
Step 2 – User is prompted to enter their email address for verification. If the user has voted within the last 24 hours a message will be displayed prompting to return again tomorrow. If the user is eligible to vote, they will continue to step 3.
Step 3 – User receives an email containing a verification link to click on to register the vote.
Step 4 – User clicks on embedded link in email and is returned to the site and presented with a message advising that vote has been registered.
Step 5 – Votes will go through quality assurance before registering on the website, they won’t be added to the voting tally in real time.
3. Individuals may cast numerous votes over the voting period, however only one vote per day may be cast by each individual during the voting period. All mass emails including spam or bulk emailing will be disqualified.
4. Tourism Queensland reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify:
(i) any votes that tamper with, or attempt to tamper with the voting process;
(ii) any votes that Tourism Queensland considers manipulative, unrepresentative, or disproportionate;
(iii) any individuals from voting who corrupt or affect, or attempt to corrupt or affect, the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the voting process.
Tourism Queensland’s decision in this matter is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Should there be a tie in the highest number of votes for two candidates Tourism Queensland reserves the right in its absolute discretion to select the applicant that will progress as the Wild Card candidate. Tourism Queensland’s decision in this matter is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Tourism Queensland does not warrant that access to the voting service will be available, uninterrupted, free from delay or error-free or that any defects will be corrected.
7. Tourism Queensland does not accept responsibility for any vote not received or for any delay in a vote being received due to technical disruptions, network congestion, network failures or for any other reason.
8. If, for any reason, any aspect of the voting process is not capable of operating as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical problems or system failures or disruption, or any other causes beyond Tourism Queensland’s control, Tourism Queensland has the absolute discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the voting process and reserves the right to determine the successful candidate.
9. Tourism Queensland reserves the right to modify these voting terms at any time in its absolute discretion.
